Summer in Munich
Summers (June to August) are warm with moderate temperatures: the warmest month is usually July, with average highs of around 24ºC or 75ºF and lows of 14ºC or 58ºF. June has the highest amount of rain though, so a light rain jacket and umbrella are recommended!
Munich in winter
Winters (November to February) are cold and often snowy. Average temperatures range between -2ºC (27ºF) and 4ºC (39ºF). On the plus side, these months have the least rain, but you'll need to pack a warm coat and lots of layers! The coldest month of the year is January, with average maximum temperatures of 3ºC (37ºF) and minimum temperatures of -4ºC (24ºF).
When should I visit Munich?
The city is beautiful and full of life at any time of year. The festive spirit over Christmas is well worth wrapping up warm; if you don't mind risking the chance of rain, the summer temperatures are lovely; for the best chance of sunshine, head there during spring, and if you're not bothered about the weather and just want to experience Oktoberfest, book for autumn!
